Healthy Teen Skin Care
A good skin care schedule is vital for beautiful looking and feeling skin, And this is especially important for teenagers, it is easy to implement into your daily routine. You just need the right products for your skin type, the correct techniques and the motivation to care for your skin, later down the track, your skin will thank you! but keep in mind, proper care depends on your skin type.
The first step in skin care is identifying your skin type.

Normal Skin
If you have normal skin, your skin has an even and smooth skin tone, with a soft texture
and nearly. invisible pores. Normal skin has no visible redness, blemishes, or dry, flaky patches. The skin is neither oily nor dry. For normal skin, wash your face once or twice daily with mild cleanser and water to gently remove dirt and sweat.

Dry Skin
If your skin is dry, it would be rough, scaly, dull, and sometimes itchy. Pores will be nearly invisible. For dry skin, wash your face daily with a mild cleanser, and follow with a perfume-free, alcohol-free moisturizer. Avoid taking hot showers, which can strip
moisture from the skin. Dry skin is also common in the winter months when humidity is low and homes are heated with dry heat. A warm bath can help in these cases, followed by using a moisturizing cream or lotion to lock in moisture.

Oily Skin
If you have a shiny complexion, prominent pores, frequent blackheads and pimples you have oily skin. Hormones affect oil production in the skin, and stress can also trigger acne outbreaks. If you have acne pimples, do not pop or squeeze them, as this can make the acne worse.

Combination Skin
Combination skin can be a mix of oily and dry, your forehead, nose, and chin may be
oily while the rest of your face is dry. Pores are usually large, and blackheads are common.
Your skin may be very dry or very oily, and the skin on your cheeks may appear rough.
Dryness may be worse during the cold weather.
Now that you have identified your skin type lets get into cleansing you skin.
Cleanse/Exfoliate
The goal here is to rid your skin of any dirt and oil on your face, eliminate impurities from the pores, while an exfoliate wash removes the top layer of dead skin cells. A weekly to bi-weekly exfoliation will encourage new skin to come to the surface faster, Make sure you are gentle; if you over scrub, your skin may break out even further.
Wash your face with lukewarm water and a cream cleanser or scrub, avoid using hot water as is can be too drying, cream cleansers are more hydrating, but if you wear a lot of makeup, you might want to use a gel cleanser and/or a makeup remover instead. Warm water helps lift the dirt out of your skin, After washing, dab your face with a towel—don’t rub. It will stretch your skin and lead to wrinkles.
Exfoliation does not need to be done every day, as this can make your skin irritated and raw over time. Instead, aim to exfoliate your skin twice a week to remove dead skin and soften it up.
Hydrate/Moisturize
The idea that those with oily skin don't need a moisturizer is just plain false.
What you do need is a light oil-free moisturizer to put on after you cleanse.
Always moisturize after you wash and dry your face. If your skin is very oily, you may choose to just moisturize in the morning. Hydrating the skin is adding water, while moisturizing the skin is adding water, oil, or both. All skin types can benefit from moisturizers after cleansing, but it's important to use one that is right for your skin type. Never use heavy cream on oily skin, choose one that is oil-free and hydrates.
